Brown Classic Tabby with White

Gus is our very first Maine Coon.  He is quite a unique cat.  We love him dearly, but tell people that visit he's "quirky".  He always has an opinion and is sure that everyone knows what that is.

He is a handsome guy, but he can be shy and fearful of things.  We tell our potential kitten buyers that he's the reason we work so hard to socialize our kittens...so they won't be the same!

He spends his days pondering life and squeaking for his special food (we feed him dry kitten food in attempts to keep weight on him).  He is not nearly the largest Maine Coon you'll meet, but he is one you'll never forget.

This is typical (baby) Gus SQUEAKING at us!

As a show cat, he didn't go far.  He's proud of the fact that he earned as many DQs as winner's ribbons in CFA.  He hated showing, although we started him at a mere 4 months of age.  Some cats just aren't cut out for showing, and Gus is it.  He becomes quite aggressive and even attempted to bite the judges (hence the DQs).  Besides, Gus doesn't believe he needs any cat show judge to tell him how handsome he is.  He'll tell you that himself, just ask him!

Although you have to catch him in the act, he can be quite silly around the house.  Not nearly as goofy as younger brother, Barney, he has his pride.

That's Brad's underwear on his head!

We affectionately refer to Gus as Squeaks, Buba Gus, and Baaa.  He's the "squeakiest" cat you'll ever meet.

Gus will be our forever pet.  He's quite spoiled and is a mommy's boy.  When he wants attention, he lets you know!  The past year, he's finally decided that independence isn't all that it's cracked up to be.  Therefore, we find ourselves with Gus jumping up on our backs without notice, coming up to be in our laps, and also to snuggle at night.
