Purchaser
agrees to the following conditions of sale:
-
Purchaser affirms that this
transaction is not simply a purchase of property, but a lifetime commitment
to this cat and to his or her welfare. If it becomes necessary for the
Purchaser to give up this cat, Purchaser will contact the Seller who has the
first option to take back the cat at no charge. Under no circumstance
will this cat be sold, leased or given to any pet shop, research facility,
or similar facility; nor to an animal shelter, humane society or other
similar facility. If unable to keep this cat, Purchaser will contact
the Seller immediately. Purchaser agrees not to place this cat in
another home without the Seller's consent. Seller agrees to either
accept return of this cat or assist Purchaser in placing this cat in an
alternative, approved home.
-
Under no circumstance will this cat
be declawed or devocalized.
-
This cat will not be allowed to roam
outdoors; only an enclosed, covered run, or a safe harness and leash will be
used for any outings.
-
Purchaser will provide this cat with
high-quality cat food in appropriate quantities (neither too much nor too
little). This cat is currently free-fed on a mixture of Royal Canin & Nutro Natural Choice Complete Kitten Care dry food.
The cat/kitten in supplemented with Nutro Natural Choice Complete Kitten
POUCHES.
-
Purchaser will provide this cat with
at least annual veterinary examinations and vaccinations, as well as ongoing
veterinary care as needed. Annual immunizations should include
vaccinations against rabies and feline upper respiratory illnesses
(rhinotracheitis, panleukopenia pneumonitis and calici virus). Seller
does not recommend vaccinating the kitten/cat for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) or
Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). If Purchaser opts to vaccinate
their cat with these vaccinations, and if the cat should subsequently
develop FIP or other illness from the vaccine(s), the Seller has the option
NOT to replace the kitten. The reason for this is the Seller feels
that based on studies done at UC Davis, these can cause more harm than good
to an indoor-only cat. Next annual booster shots are due no later
than:___________________. Vaccinations this cat/kitten has had
previously are listed on the
veterinarian's confirmation of health certificate.
-
Purchaser agrees to keep this cat in
a sanitary environment of sufficient room and space. This cat is not
to live in a cage, unless temporary for health issues. Purchaser will
provide a litter box and keep it relatively clean. A dirty litter box
can cause illness and possibly encourage the cat/kitten to go "outside
the box" to find a more suitable place, and this habit can be a
difficult one to break.
-
Purchaser guarantees, to the best of
his/her ability, that any other cats he/she owns are free of Feline Leukemia
and other serious, contagious diseases. When introducing new cats to
his/her household in the future, Purchaser will exercise all due caution in
order to safeguard the health of this cat. This cat/kitten tested
negative for FeLV & FIV on _____________.
-
Purchaser agrees to inform Seller
immediately if this cat ever develops any major health problems.
-
Purchaser agrees not to have this
cat euthanized without first contacting the Seller, unless a licensed
veterinarian deems immediate euthanasia to be medically necessary.
-
If this cat dies of a potentially
heritable condition (for example, a "blood clot") or for an
unknown reasons, Purchaser will contact the Seller immediately, and will
permit a necropsy to be done if Seller requests one (at the Seller's
expense). Purchaser also agrees to provide Seller with a copy of the relevant
veterinary records.
-
Purchaser will keep this cat free of
external and internal parasites such as fleas and worms.
-
Purchaser will keep this cat
relatively free of matted fur by grooming the cat as needed. If
treating for fleas, purchaser should use a topical solution (such as
Advantage or Frontline), but NEVER flea dip a cat, as cats are very
sensitive to these chemicals.
-
The Purchaser should be aware that
kittens often, during times of stress, such as going to a new home, will
exhibit temporary signs of illness including but not limited to sneezing,
runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhea or constipation. These effects can
be minimized by feeding the food provided by the Seller in your "new
kitten care package", offering bottled/filtered water, and by taking
the steps to reduce stress while introducing the kitten to the Purchaser's
home and other pets. These symptoms should be temporary and go away
within a few days if the kitten is not further stressed.
-
Purchaser will inform Seller of any
changes in Purchaser's email address, street address or telephone number.

may return the cat to Seller at any time during the cat's lifetime. If
this cat is returned within 7 days of purchase, for any reason, the Seller
will refund 100% of the purchase price. If returned after 7 days,
Seller will pass on to the Purchaser any monies collected from placing this
cat/kitten in a new home, less any costs incurred by Seller (such as Feline
Leukemia testing fees). Seller will charge the new buyers the usual
price for a cat/kitten of that age.

years this cat will not develop any fatal heritable illness or defect (such
as HCM). If the cat does, upon written documentation from a licensed
veterinarian, Seller will provide Purchaser with a monetary refund or kitten
of equal quality.
-
Seller
will inform Purchaser of any changes in the Seller's email address, street
address or telephone number.
-
Seller
will extend to the Purchaser a $50 discount off the price of an additional
cat or kitten (discount applies only if the additional cat or kitten will
reside with the Purchaser).
This
cat is sold under the provisions and guarantees set forth in this contract.
Seller makes no guarantee other than those specifically described above. Seller’s total liability,
is limited to the purchase price of this cat (or less, as stated above).
Failure on the part of the Purchaser to honor the terms and conditions of
this contract will result in the ownership of this cat being reverted to the
Seller, with no compensation due to Purchaser.
I
am in full agreement with, and agree to abide by, all the above terms and
conditions of this contract.
