Vaccination Protocols

Our kittens will be vaccinated at 9, 12 & 16 weeks of age against Viral Rhinotracheitis, feline panleukopenia, calici virus, & herpes virus.  Additionally, kittens are give doses of Strongid-T as a preventive measure.

Our breeding girls are up-to-date with their vaccines for rabies and FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus Infection, & Panleukopenia).  Due to the controversy surrounding the Feline Leukemia vaccine and since our cats aren't exposed to cats who go outdoors, the girls have not and will not be given this vaccination.  Additionally, girls are all tested negative for FIV & Feline Leukemia prior to being bred.

ALL of our pets are kept up-to-date with their vaccines for rabies, Feline Leukemia, and FVRCP.

This protocol stems from the Veterinary Guidelines for Maine Coon Breeders, by Mary D. McCauley, D.V.M. - Kenland Maine Coon Cats.
