Here you can view a list of those breeders I know well & follow the same breeding philosophy that I do. Most importantly, they test their cats for healthy hearts (some also do hips), are breeding only cats that are DNA negative for the MyBPC3 mutation associated with HCM, and strive to produce excellent temperaments while maintaining the breed standard (the "look"). We welcome to you inquire with one of them for a companion.
All of the cats and kittens at Chemicoons are registered, purebred Maine Coon Cats. They are registered with The International Cat Association (TICA) and many are also registered with Cat Fanciers Association (CFA).

I am also a breeder member, and former Vice President, of the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association (MCBFA). This is a breed group dedicated to preserving the breed.
Health is the number one priority here at Chemicoons. ALL breeding cats are negative (DNA) for the one known mutation associated with HCM - which means all kittens produced here are also negative. I also screen each cat, prior to breeding and then again annually while they are a part of my breeding program, for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Additionally, each breeding cat is assessed, via OFA or PennHIP, for Feline Hip Dysplasia and has earned a passing score.

In addition to the above measures, I also feed a high quality diet and provide all of the cats in my home with regular examinations and vaccinations with my veterinarian.
